How To Enjoy Scotland - Visitors Charter
Blair Atholl and Bridge of Tilt is the largest village in the area being bounded on the south side by the River Garry and bisected by its tributary, the southerly flowing River Tilt. The area of the village on the left bank of the River Tilt is known as Bridge of Tilt.
Some 4 miles North of Blair Atholl lie the hamlets of Bruar, Calvine and Struan, where the A9 main road and railway to Inverness leave the broad green valley of Strathgarry in Atholl and begin their ascent through the lofty Drumochter Pass into Badenoch.
The name Killiecrankie derives from Coille Chneagaidh meaning Wood of The Aspen or Wood of the Shimmering. The area is steeped in history and is popular with walkers, fishers and anyone intent on spending time in one of the most beautiful areas in the UK.

The River Garry rushes through the heart of Atholl like a silver thread linking all the villages and glens. The lively Atholl rivers combine with the mountains, hills and glens to create some of the finest scenery in Scotland, and the Atholl villages offer some of the finest hospitality in a natural, unspoiled setting.
Access to our Atholl scenery is easy - whether you like country roads, bicycle paths, waymarked trails, or tours guided and unguided. If you walk, you will discover plentiful wildlife and plants, and you may even see red or roe deer and other amazing wildlife!
From the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689 to the Jacobite rebellions of the 18th century, this area has a rich history, much of it central to Scotland's history. Visitors can discover some of this history at Blair Castle and other local attractions and museums.
The unspoilt heart of Scotland - Blair Atholl has everything...The Blair Atholl Area Tourism Association was set up in 1992 as a direct result of feeling their area was not being properly supported by the then national tourism body. So the the Tourism businesses of Blair Atholl, Killiecrankie, Struan and Calvine set up the Blair Atholl Area Tourism Association (BAATA).
